"If I may," Adila asked, reaching out for the clay seal. "there is a set of markings..." "Only if you do not read them aloud," Waleed replied with a serious face.

"Only if you do not read them aloud," Waleed replied with a serious face. "Not to worry. It only happened once," she explained. "I tried to read it again, with the vain hope of ending my torment one way or another, but nothing happened."

"Or so you thought... you have experienced blackouts, so here," Waleed reached for paper, pen and ink and offered them to her. "Just write down what you can read in a language we can read."

"Oh, I can read none of it. It is a physical feature I would point out." She was talking in circles, "If you can read none of it, how did you read it in the first place that started your curse?" Waleed's eyes narrowed in suspicion. "Show me the marking."

Waleed reiterated, "Show me the marking." "Look on the frontside," Adila said, spinning her finger around, "well, I think it's the fron..." A violent gust of wind and her head snapped back with a crack. Before anyone had time to do more than gasp, Adila slid like a lifeless cloth doll to the floor. The seal was blown from Waleed's grip, carried away on a violent wind that burst the shutters from their hinges. The clay seal was gone.

Whatever ill wind slew Adila and stole the seal, Waleed would have a hand in stopping it. Quickly he used his magics to weave the wind around them to bring back the clay seal that had been blown away.

The clay seal comes whirling back into the room- Waleed snatches it from the air.

"This poor soul," mutters Waleed as he puts the seal into a pouch on his belt, "now her suffering has ended. When the tavern closes tonight, I will have her taken and given a proper burial." As an afterthought, Waleed asks, "Keesha, perhaps you could... check her body? For clues that may help us discern the nature of this curse. I would hazard a guess that the seal is all that she had, but you never know. Something powerful is a work here and it would be nice to know what we are dealing with. Fate has chosen us and delivered poor Adila to my doorstep so I would feel remiss in my duty if I didn't at least try to find out who or what killed her."

"I would be carefull if I were you of putting that thing in my pocket" with that she retrieves a small leather pouch and mutters an encantation, making it glitter briefly. Then she hands it to him.
"Here, put it inside. At least it would make it harder to trace through magic or for it to start behaving erratically" Then she gives him a knowing smile after seeing his surprised look "Remember that thing you mentioned about tracing Ku?.. well caugh a spell or two on my way back here just to prevent being caugh on such situations in the future.
Looking at the girl she shakes her head side too side. "Poor one, I for one know how hard can life on the street be" then abruptly and without much explanation she moves towards her and starts checking for any trace of magic which might explain what happened with her.
"Until we figure this one out properly, however, I would suggest we dont mention what happened here to anyone around, nor about the existence of this seal"

Waleed smiled his characteristic smile, "Nothing surprises me about you Keesha and I trust you implicitly. I have seen your true heart in the face of adversity. It was you, not I, who followed after Ya'qub and saved his life." Removing the pouch containing the seal from his belt, Waleed placed it within Keesha's enchanted pouch and handed it back to her. "Here, you take it, I trust it in your possession more than I do myself and I agree, this should remain amongst ourselves."

The pouch with the seal fell to the floor with a clatter, knocked from Waleed's hand as he was thrown violently against the wall. He'd later recount it was as if a charging camel had struck him. For now he just sat slumped on the floor, gasping to replace the air that had been knocked out of him.
The pouch rose from the floor as if lifted by an invisible hand.

"Who are you, murderer of women?" Croaked Waleed through pained gasps for air. "Show yourself, coward!"
