Salah ad-din Yusuf ibn Ayyub
Salah ad-din Yusuf ibn Ayyub is a young faris or holy-warrior of Hajama the Courageous. He is good-natured but somewhat naive, and loves the company of others. Born and raised in the city of Tajar and recently employed as a guard in the caravans of Fahad al-Zakir, Salah now seeks to test himself in lands he has only heard of in tales.
Salah wears plainly-colored embroidered robes over a tunic of deep blue. He is armored with a simple helm and mail shirt and carries a scimitar, jambiya, and bow with a quiver of war arrows.

Salah ad-din Yusuf ibn Ayyub
Faris of Hajama [3], Apprentice healer and surgeon (2) Divine Grace of Hajama (lucky shots) [ ] [ ] [ ] Questing dice [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ] [ ]
The only child and son of a successful doctor in the city of Tajar, Salah ad-din Yusuf ibn Ayyub obediently but reluctantly began studying his father’s art when he came of age. Salah was a headstrong and energetic youth who chafed under the yoke of the meticulous and scholarly study of medicine and surgery. So it was that when Salah met a faris of Hajama, Jayib ibn Musheer who was under the care of his father, the boy’s restless young mind began to spin with dreams of bold adventures in the lands of Zakhara. Knowing his stern father would not allow him to pursue such ambitions, Salah caught up with Jayib as leaving for the High Desert with a trade caravan belonging to the merchant Fahad al-Zakir. Jayib was impressed by the boy’s courage and belived Salah’s story that his father had allowed him to make this journey into the desert. For the next two weeks, Jayib proudly expounded upon the faith of Hajama and deeds of great bravery and glory. Salah was entranced and the whole journey into the desert was to him as a journey into some unearthly paradise.
When Salah returned to Tajar, his father was livid and unforgiving and disowned his son without a second thought. The blow was doubly-hard for the crestfallen youth, for Jayib admonished him as well for deceiving both him and Salah’s father. With nowhere left to go, Salah pleaded with Jayib to teach him the Path of the Brave. Jayib agreed thinking to instill in the youth not only bravery and courage but also the way of honor and truth.
Upon returning to Tajar from a later adventure in the desert, Salah learned that his father had passed away. None of what he had learned of sword, lance and bow, and the courage of Hajama and his followers had prepared Salah for reconciliation with his father, and now it was too late. Realizing there way nothing more he could teach the boy until he faced his shame, Jayib blessed Salah and left Tajar for new adventures across the sea.
Salah returned to his father’s house and cared for his fragile mother, Sahiya until her own death two years later. Salah’s only consolation was that unlike his father, she had never been ashamed of her son and she urged him to follow whatever destiny his heart desired.
Without no friends or family left, Salah is very alone in the bustling city of Tajar. Though he has come to know many of the al-Badia in his travels with Jayib, he yearns instead to see the other great cities of men, Hiyal and Huzzuz and the gold-domed mosques of Hajama. Faris abilities: Aura of Good, Detect Evil, Divine Grace, Smite Evil (1/day), Lay On Hands, Special Mount, Aura of Couarge, Turn Undead.
